Locked HELP: Lost In Space
I posted a question about revesing loops in the late January early February timeframe and have been searching the group for almost an hour and cannot find anything to do with it. I had several replies, many if not all had helpful information. I was confident (at the time) that I could find the information whenever. Well that has proven not to be the case. I am adding a image that was used during these conversations in the hope that it will help trigger something for those that responded.
Since I have a terrible memory, I do not even remember the topic of the Title that I used. I do not think I used any hastags as it was a more general layout question. The image is seen below.
I will take due deligence in keeping the information that I receive in return.
Thank you for your help. |

Hi Dan, I expect you are mixig up forums i your head. I have every (non-operations) post in nmy local mail archive, and there is none (either in jmriuser, jmridev, NCE-DCC, Sprog-dcc or WiringForDCC) that has your name combied ith the term "reverser" or "reversing". The story could change of you have different email addresses you are active with, but as it is, there is nothing. The only topics created by you in the last 2 months are this one and one about a Manifest creator update.

Dan, Your track plan is interesting. That inner portion would not need any reversing if not for the connections labelled 1-2 and 3-4. So, I don't know why you have two stars at the left and right ends. But, I can't read the tiny text otherwise, which might explain it. I'd double gap (gap both rails) of the track between 1 and 2, and between 3 and 4. Then, I'd do the same for the track extending left from 4 and right from 1, somewhere out near the stars. They should be far enough away that your longest trains fit inside those tracks from 1 or 4 to their neighboring stars.? I hope that's a reasonable requirement for your railroad? If not, then things will get complicated. But, if your trains and railroad meet that requirement,? you only will need one reverser or reversing switch, for the area between the two stars plus turnouts at 4 and at 1. There is no need to reverse the tracks leading left and right from the points labelled 2 and 3. Good luck! Don W -- Don Weigt Connecticut |
First, I don't understand what you mean by following the links on the WEB SITE.?
I have looked through all my mail including the Trash Bin and found nothing except the Manifest Creator related emails.
?
I have listed all message that are attributed to my name in the forum and do not find any that appear to refer to what I am looking for.I found my latest posting which was for Manifest Creator. This was added after I asked about the Reversing Loops. To reiterate, I am not sure that Reversing Loops was in the title but it makes sense based on the question I ask.
?
I do find in some OLD documentation that at one time I had member credentials of ID: dannydontrr and PW: Dannie00RR. I do not believve that I have used those in a long time, but I will see if I can login and check for messages there.
?
Yesterday I looked into the MRH Forum but found nothing that looked familiar.
?
Sorry I am so dense.
But I do thank you for your help.

I would think that I added my topic in Wiring for DCC but do not find anything there. I remember when I first decided to send the message Wiring for DCC made the most sences for an area to use.
?
My memory as I mentioned is not very good and has frustrated me my entire life. It really is frustrating.
?
It is certainly possible that I have mixed up forums but I did not find anything in the MRH Forum that I remember when I posted the topic.

Thank youj for your feedback. |
The numbers are retained from an earlier drawing that I first posted. The words inside the Red Box are:
This area encompasses two reversing loops. I am unsure as to how, where I should?
create gaps and set up the Auto Reverser hardware. Should an Arduino be user.
The words in the first Black Box are:
The stars indicdate where I think they might go. Would the red stars also need to be gaps?
The words in the second Black Box are:
Anyone that might be able to shed some light on my issue?
These words make no sense in relation to the current diagram. Since it was an ongoing dicussion I just left them there. Perhaps not a good idea.
?
The numbered circles are no longer relavent either but rather from my first drawing I put into the message. So if you remove the Red Box and the humbers in the circles, it sould be what the final plan would look like. All of the wording can be removed as well.
?
This is the concept that I received from two or three replies. That is to make the area, the red box, that I thought would be the Reversing loops, a section all onto itself. The blue boxes would then become the Reversing Loops gap points. This makes sense to me. It will require a bit of rewiring of my tracks in that area between the three blue boxes (reversing Loops) but that is not a big deal. At the moment, my trains travel straight through 3-2 and 4-1 and the crossovers are "spiked" in the through position. So you can see where the wiring would be in conflict.
?
The piece of information that I am really looking for is what Auto Reversers to use. Several offered ideas on units but one of those in the discussion recommended a particular brand or type and I would like to investigate that item and perhaps purchase what I need. I use EasyDCC Controls but I am not wanting to buy the box they offer for reversing loops. I feel it would be overkill and a bit expensive.

Wiring has nothing to do with JMRI and should be taken elsewhere.

That was the help that I needed. I posted it on EasyDCC Group and found it right away.? Someone else replied that I might be in the wrong forum and they were correct as well. I do apologize once again.? Thanks to all that pondered what in the heck JMRI has to do with the issue.
