Locked Configuration #rpi

I don't have enough room in the aisles to have a laptop installed but I was wondering if I could use a Raspberry Pi with a small display to run JMRI?? If so could I also connect one or more Arduinos to it to handle sensors as well as turnouts?? If this configuration would work, what would be the suggested hardware?

Craig:

Absolutely..!

Search on RPi-JMRI, DCC++ command station, DIY Arduino DCC accessory decoders...

That should bury you for a bit...

If you have a tablet or a PC near the train area you can access the Raspberry Pi with a remote desktop, VCN.

I think you can also use a old iPad as a display and link it to your computer with the web server.

Many people use a Pi without a keyboard/mouse/monitor directly attached. The
do initial setup and then network connections to do any further work later.
So nothing else has to be near the Pi normally.

Hi Craig,?
I have a preconfigured RPi image with JMRI and access point setup, plus several other enhancements, free to download at ?
What would you want the display to show? My setup at home and our club has no display, on the rare occasion I need to access the RPi desktop, I do it remotely from my phone or my laptop.
