The actual decoder file name is not relevant to selecting/accessing definitions (The decoderIndex file looks after that). If we change family or decoder names there are mechanisms in the decoder

If you are having issues reading CVs from a particular brand/model of decoder, that is a DCC hardware issue and not a JMRI issue. I remember only one brand/model of decoder that required some tweaking

The script is designed to run in a loop until you stop it with Control-C. It displays the last 10 devices that have appeared. You need to watch that list of 10 while unplugging and replugging the USB
