I don’t think that particular element is the problem. For one thing, it’s a regular mast: Matrix masts are (I think) stored as <matrixsignalmast> elements. Could you show an example of that?

That's the way I'd go… In the Sensor table create an internal sensor then in the layout editor choose the "Sensor Icon" (round) radio button and then the internal sensor in the combobox dropdown
