Tony, You need to check Device Manager/Com Ports immediately after starting up the PC and before plugging the USB cable into the computer. If you see a COM6 before you have plugged the NCE USB cable

Tony, I'm afraid this is also a complete waste of time. The baud rate setting in Device Manager is always overrides by JMRI when it opens the port and is the setting displayed in the JMRI system log.

Tony, You need to stop wasting effort changing these settings and leave them at 9600 baud and all jumpers off for now. These settings have absolutely nothing to do with your problem. Dave
