Re: Digitrax N scale DN147K1C decoder.

The DN147 currently shown in DecoderPro is the model which became redundant in 2002. ?DN147K1C's are the 2024 variant which have a version number of 204 from memory.
I think it's unfortunate that Digitrax is essentially recycling an old designation and causing a bit of confusion. |

开云体育Harry, The only decoder I can find is Digitrax DN147. I don't know the difference between it and DN147K1C. One option is to open an Issue on GitHub, requesting that decoder
to be added to JMRI.

开云体育The speed issue is actually something I see with the decoder before even changing the address or reading it into the roster. The forward light is very dim in reverse, when it should be “off”. It does not exhibit this behavior in forward (ie. front headlight on, rear headlight is off as expected). I’ve seen this behavior on two other brand new DN147A0 boards. I’ve eliminated the possibility of short with motor leads on the frame halves with capton tape. With three boards in a row this is somewhat leading me to believe this is either hardware or software problem with the decoder itself, but wanted to verify all the CV settings and maybe turn off features like BEMF to test. ? I have JMRI v5.6 / Java 11.0.17 in my computer but cannot find the newer decoder mention on the reference.
?
Can anyone tell me if this decoder is included in a newer version of JMRI?

Re: Thank You!!!
Thanks for that information, Ken. The block signal was one of the thing the I was never clear on the concept of how to work it. No problem in making it an ABS signal. JMRI makes it easy!

Doug,
Only thing I see is the intermediate signal between Bealville and Cliff would not be under dispatch control. It would just be ABS between the other signals. You can keep the block detectors showing so you can watch the progress. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team |

Re: Build Fail, claims no route for cars
#operationspro
Pete,
Yes the detailed build report did help.
First issue: I had entered the wrong car length for my Cement hoppers (too long) for their assigned car spots.
Second issue: While making some changes I accidentally unselected a car type to be used at a Trans load location, so the cars of course had no where to go to from staging.
These two issues where causing build fails and as you noted the problems where not seen on the less detailed Build reports, however the very detailed reports brought the problems to light plus one other that I posted in another ?thread, so the lesson for me is to be patient and actually read the build reports once in a while (especially with a fail) in the very detailed setting.

DN147A0 is the replacement for the DN163A0 board, just wondering if a decoder definition exists or comparable existing definition. Currently the DN147 that does exist appears to be an older definition. Apologies if this has already been covered, my search came up with no results.?

Re: Consist
#operationspro
Hi Jim,
?
Not completely sure what you're asking.? But there are various options for a consist.? You can have the program build a consist from individual locos.
?
?
The program will add or remove locos if the HPT isn't 0.
?
?
If you don't have the option to dynamically build your consist, then for example, if you request 3 locomotives, the program has to find a consist with 3 locomotives.? If you select the option to build a consist dynamically, the program first tries to find a consist with 3 locos, and if not found, the program has to find 3 individual locos that aren't consisted.?
?
So the short answer is that if you request some number of locomotives in the Edit Train window, that's the number the program will assign if the HPT is equal to 0.

Perhaps there is a setup step needed to select the BSTURNOUT 'Mode'.
To display the Mode column, use the checkbox in the turnouts table screen:
Show Feedback Information
?
The mode dropdown should be set to
DIRECT - for DCC accessory/turnout decoder commands
BSTURNOUT? - for vpin/other turnout Throw/Close commands
BSOUTPUT - for vpin digital output accessories

Use the 'Show Raw Data' checkbox in the Traffic Monitor to see the commands sent.

Ash, Thanks, but that was not really my question. I can see them in JRMI the turnout table. But, when I click to change the state? this is what I can see on the DCC monitor: Strange .... Any idea ? JeanLouisDelestre@... ?
LEDs can be connected to a DCC accessory decoder.??Some features in JMRI may provide the option to select how the LED is connected -- and provide the command needed.? Others may not have that flexibility.
?
For example, the JMRI Lights table only sends DCC accessory commands.? If you want to use the Lights table with DCC-EX vpin outputs, there is a work-around which uses myFilter.cpp in the DCC-EX sketch.
?
You may want to approach the issue by figuring out what signaling option to implement.
JMRI has various options
?
DCC-EX also has logic which can enable setting LEDs based on turnout state.
? ? - - example:
SIGNAL(36, 0, 37) ?// vpins red/amber/green
?
ONTHROW(3) ?// turnout ID 3
? RED(36) DONE ONCLOSE(3) ? GREEN(36) DONE ?
