Locked Re: Manifest file won't print - Get error from Epson printer #operationspro

Thanks to all for your suggestions. The solution turns out to be changing the printer port it was using from "WSD" to creating a new port using TCP/IP and the IP address of the printer. I have now idea what this means, but, doing this seems to work, I am now able to print Manifest's out directly.?
?
Thanks again!

The other method for assignment to the local allows the crew of the outbound local (Local #Ex2) to pick up their loco right from the Ready area, then pick up their cars from the yard track, before heading out to do their work.
This is the workflow I prefer.? When I had just one locomotive track my train build would simply select the cars then select the loco based on AutoHPT.? Now that I have a "loco ready" and a "shop" track I would still like to build the train where it picks up the loco(s) from the "loco ready" track.? The change is that I would like to transfer locos between the "loco ready" and "shop" tracks and vice versa.? I played with this a bit a couple of days ago using a separate train but couldn't get it to work, but admittedly didn't try that hard.? In your above examples, were the locations for the loco tracks staging locations??
?
One issue I had was that sometimes I am transferring one loco, and sometimes a consist (don't think building a "train" can break a consist as far as I know).? So what do I put for number of locos?? If it is a staging location then I put 0 and staging takes care of this.??
?
I really appreciate your work on this.? It appears you are having fun.??

To move cars I go to Operation > Trains > Cars select a car, select "Set" and make the necessary changes.? I do the same for the locomotives..? But the changes do not appear to be made..

Locked Re: JMRI 5.8 PH5R and AIU #nce

I'm having some odd behavior with my testbed for the PH5. Older
systems not an issue. But the AIU read seems to be not giving a useful
reply. I'm in touch with NCE to see if they can confirm my test or
not. I'm trying to confirm if it is a JMRI issue or not. If it is
JMRI, it is pretty deep in the code and not easy to isolate so far.

Jos,

This will work:

?Set memory IMRATEFACTOR to the result of formula "int(memories.getMemory("IMRATEFACTOR").getValue()) + 5"

The problem is that a memory variable is not an entry in the LogixNG symbol table. ?

I've just discovered the power of LogixNG and I like it but as always with something new you at times are faced with some hurdles.
I want to use Memory Variable (MV) in a ConditionalNG and add or subtract values but I can't get the calculations syntax correct.
As a work around I use a Local Variable (LV) and do the calculations there then copy the new LV into the MV.
Is there a better way to do this?
Secondly do you just reference the MV by it's name? I have an MV IM:AUTO:0001 with the username SPEED.
So can I create a formula: SPEED = int(SPEED) + 5 or do I use the IM:AUTO:001 iso SPEED?
Thanks, Jos

Hey Gord,
?
Do you get an error message when you attempt to save changes?? If so, can you post a screenshot of the message or write it out on here for us to see?
?
What are the specific steps you employ to make your changes?
?
Happy to help, hope it helps,

Locked Cannot manually move cars in Operations #operationspro

Hello.
I have been using JMRI for the Operations, and decoder programming for probably well over 15 years.? My problem now is not being able to? manually set cars, o assign locomotives to trains or generally speaking make any changes manually.? When I set a destination for any car, or assign locomotives, the changes I make do not register, nothing changes.? I recently downloaded JMRI 5.6., noticed the problem and went back to JMRI 5.4, but problem persists.
I am open to suggestions.? Thanks

Hi Dave
I will check them out. I am moving along one small step at a time. My layout is a Kato Amherst 2005 but I wanted longer trains so I expanded it 3'. I have layout editor set up
with signals working on the layout as well as the computer. I am using this test to learn about sections,? transits and Dispatcher.?

? Thanks for your information on using VNC. ?

? Tried to use the free light version of unREAL VNC but all it wanted to do was install other software that had a monthly cost. ?Gave up and installed TightVNC on the server and Remote Ripple on my iPad and it works like a charm.
?
? Not only can I now see the CMRI node status, but I can now isolate the other tools to just the specific tabs such as seeing only the CMRI lights on my iPad rather than all Lights and having to scroll through them. ?A much better solution

KenF,

To attach signal heads to anchor points right click on the anchor point and select "Set Signal Heads".

An alternative approach which eliminates all of these problems is to use signal masts with signal mast logic (SML) instead of signal heads with simple signal logic (SSL). ?Depending on your block topology, there can be other types of issues with SML. ?Signal masts are only placed at block boundaries.

Good morning, Ken
I fully agree but JMRI kept giving me an error message that said I had ten switches without signals. When I put virtual signals on all the switches then the message stopped appearing. Now I have one error message that says I have two anchor points that need signals but I don't know how to attach signals to anchor points except when there are two blocks connecting. What do you suggest??
