Loconet looks after most of the layout. This is just to get some (limited) data to and from JMRI. Mostly just sending occupancy status and receiving some commands from JMRI.

Have a look at MQTT over WiFi using an ESP01, Nodemcu or ESP32 - they have WiFi built in, or possibly an Arduino with a WiFi adapter.

Normally, custom icons are at preference:resources. In your case "preference:" maps to C:\Users\wesno\JMRI\Production.jmri\.

Start PanelPro. Don't load anything. Go to "Help -> System Console". Click on the "Copy to clipboard" button and paste into a reply. This will eliminate a lot of questions.
