Re: Balancing/Prioritizing Multiple Destination/Trains for same Car #operationspro

Thanks Pete for both ideas.? ?I really don't want all the tracks at one location at the same probablility, so I think its time I learn more about Schedules to see how that might influence moves.
?
I believe you were the one who said to explore the Logger files with Excel tables and pivots.? I have done that now very successfully.? ?I simply use an Automation to execute a full day with one run and using the counter feature in the automation create a log of 1 week or multiple weeks.? Then I grab the Log files and save them to a separate folder.? Name it so I know what it represents.? Then grab my excel and repoint the External data connections to these two files.? ?Then with a refresh the tables and the pivots are all updated and I can review.? ?I have pivots as details and summaries by Car, Location, Train.? ?Its working very well.? ?I created a couple calculated columns where it computes Day of Week and Week number so the pivot columns are organized by week and day.? ?You can expand and collapse to look at everything either daily or weekly.? ?It works fantastic.? ?So thanks for your insight and direction as I grabbed it and its working very well for me.
?
Now to start reading and experimenting with Schedules.
