I'd agree with that, but I'd still like the answers to the questions. The decoder coud certaily be fulty - most likely problem, even. But it could also be something as simple as normally operating with a standard DC controller, and now finding that the DCC throttle is not, as expected, in yard mode. That would be very simple. Still not JMRI, though! :-)
But based on what we actually know, guesswork is pointless.

I guess the main thrust in this thread is: "Is this a JMRI matter". And that's where PeterU was correct. So what I refer to is that if the OP has trouble with a Digitrax and MRC decoders, it isn't with the decoder/and now, not JMRI. It's something else.
