Locked Re: Simple Build not performing correctly #operationspro

Dan and Pete,

I've been thinking about how I can plan trains better to avoid the build failures that are due to space, or other planning issues.? ?It feels like right now, you have to build a train to find out if it will work and if not, read through the build report, which could be daunting if you need to use the very detailed version.

It would be VERY useful (in my opinion) if the UI provide more information about the success or failure of a build.? Instead of having to dig through the build report, it would be a great enhancement if the build report put information in the locations/tracks to indicate what failed.? For instance, in this case, if Edgerton showed that there was no room for the cars at Elk Grove for each of the cars it processed AND Elk Grove showed the reason the cars that were there and scheduled to be picked-up couldn't be picked up and why, a user would immediately know what went wrong.

It seems if the Build Report is writing these messages, it could knows what car and what track is involved and putting that message in the UI (Location, Show Cars) would make the process much simpler.

While I've gotten better with the Build Report as I run more trains it's like being on a permanent uphill learning curve.

Just some thoughts I had.

Is there a formal way to submit suggestions?
