MFRC, WeMos, WiFi

I tried the updated version of this sketch and I'm afraid to say this isn't doing what we expect either. Upon trying to upload, I get an Exit Status 1 informing me that pin D9 was not defined or beyond the scope, or something. So I can't really get any further with that.
However, I tried reloading the previous version again, which I had modified to 4 Readers, so pin D9 is not even in the sketch. That uploads fine. The Serial Monitor correctly reports what I'm connected to and the IP address. But it doesn't read any tags. The WiFi connection does appear on my router. So I thought I'd try it with JMRI again. I get the same issue of it connecting and disconnecting repeatedly about every 0.5 seconds.
So it seems to me, that somewhere early on in the sketch were the WeMos tries to connect, it is rejected by JMRI and the WeMos tries to reconnect. I don't think the sketch is getting any further than this point, which is why the tags are not being read. I'm not sure why JMRI would terminate the connection, seems to connect okay with the Ethernet version even if that doesn't read any tags either.
I did double check the attached reader and made sure I had entered the WiFi credentials correctly, which I must have done if the router could see it.
Any ideas?
