Just want to verify I have the setup for Decoder Pro correct. Running JMRI / Decoder Pro on Windows 7. Layout is NCE DCC. Using a USB adapter between computer and plug in panel on NCE system. Power up the NCE for power on tracks. Start Decoder Pro. Place engine on tracks, start Decoder Pro. Set for programming on main. Select "read from decoder".?
Problem is that Decoder Pro says manufacturer is Stewart (CV 8), then times out with error message complaining about not being able to talk to command station. I do not find Stewart in the list of decoders. Engine is a Proto 2000 E7A with a sound decoder. Engine does not respond to speed controls, so I thought I would start looking at the decoder using Decoder Pro.
