Thomas: As you imply later in that post, that statement by the Apple store sounds a little over optimistic to me. They certainly will be able to transfer all your user files but given changes in macOS versions, especially the most recent Catalina, I suggest not counting on having all your apps work flawlessly on the new computer. I hope I'm wrong!
