Dual decoder, when put on program track, should respond as the address is irrelevant.? Both decoders will try and respond.? he should get an ACK pulse
No ACK pulse sounds like the motor control is gone: 1- broken wire,? 2-bad motor, 3-blown H-bridge on decoder,
If the engine is not nudging forward during Service mode programming and is throwing a 301 error,? he is not spinning the motor.
