Did you download a sound file from the ESU web site for Alco 251 and load sounds?
Some decoders fresh from dealers have bad default sound until you load using lokprogrammer.
Do this:
Download the sound file from ESU. (Make sure V4 not V5) for Alco 251.
Open that file with Lokprogrammer.
Set address, function changes, etc.
Do Write Sound (may take 30-40 minutes) Be sure to check Make Default before write.
Should now have proper sound.
