Locked Re: Functions

F1 is typically bell. if your DECODER has a function pad F1, then you could hook up a light to it, and then you'd get a bell sound (assuming you had this before, of course) AND the light would come on.
if you go into DP and relabel it 'strobe', the decoder will still light the light and play the bell. if you go in and reprogram the decoder to flash the light to mimic a strobe, you'll get a flashing/strobing light, and some very strange bell sounds, sounding when the light is on.

If you then go into DP and change the label to "Spuds' inane setup', nothing on the decoder changes, but you'll get a (truncated) label in Engine Driver and? DP's throttle.

IF your decoder has function remapping,? you could then remap say F4 to play the bell and light the light.

DP can't add functionality to the decoder (ignoring the possible ability to upload new firmware in some cases), only map & enable/choose things the ddecoder can do.

Jan,

Now I AM confused. What I want to know is this:
F1 is the bell on my decoders. DP has function pads. If I connect something to the F1 pad, what happens to my F1 bell?
