Thank you all for helping out, Ken,? Bob, and Wouter (ben jij Nederlander?), I'm running Java 1.6 and a corresponding earlier version of JMRI?because with my OS I have not been successful installing a later version.

I looked into Preferences -> defaults, and LocoNet is the only option. All my turnouts have been set up as LT's, and they kind-of worked the other day, from a panel. However, when?firing up my PC after a few days, I see that all are now IT's, with only 2 random LT's remaining. Those 2 don't work from JMRI, even with direct turnout control.

I'll change them all to LT's again.
Any idea how turnouts can become IT's automagically,?when I didn't set them up that way?
?
Thanks,

I don¡¯t understand what you mean by the 2nd sentence below.

¡°IT2¡± usually refers to a turnout that¡¯s ¡°internal¡±: It doesn¡¯t actually exist on the layout.

¡°LT2¡± can refer to a turnout on the layout that¡¯s controlled via the LocoNet cable. It can _also_ refer to one that¡¯s connected to the track (DCC signal), and JMRI asks the LocoNet command station to send the commands.
