There will be premium sake, assortments of wine and beer, and food available as well as representation from the Japanese American community. As you may or may not know, there has been significant disasters in Japan recently that have resulted in immense structural damage and loss. Some of the hardest hit areas are Hiroshima, Okayama, and Ehime Prefectures. Your donation will greatly help Japan heal and recover. The event is a collaboration between many Japanese/Japanese-American Organizations such as HAA, JAA, JETAANY, JMSA, and Japan Lions Club. Susan *** Please come take part in a special fundraiser for flood relief efforts in Japan, featuring tastings of Japanese food and spirits. 100% of proceeds from this JACC (Japanese American Community Coalition) event will go towards aid for those in western Japan who have been suffering from historic rainfalls and landslides this summer. Japanese-inspired hors d'oeuvres as well as premium sake, wine and beer provided by Chef John McCarthy of OKA will be available, as well as special prizes. This is a collaborative event of many Japanese/Japanese American and Japan-related organizations: HAA, JAA, JETAANY, JMSA, USJC, NY Japanese American Lions Club and JACL-NY [with the support of the Consulate General of Japan in New York]. Proceeds will go to JAA’s Japan Flood Relief Fund. JAA, the Japanese American Association of New York, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. dear everyone: I am excited for thurs! a few JMSA people will come but hoping after this first event, I will be able to generate more interest from JMSA. I will send out another jmsa email blast today. that's great that we sold over 45 tickets! I have to work on thurs in westchester so I will only be able to get to Oka at 630pm.
