Hi team, just a few updates from me:
-
Attached is the latest version of the fundraiser poster from Kim.

I have some raffle tickets and a cash box from JETAANY to use for the raffle. Will get some mini gift bags tomorrow for attendees to put raffle tickets in for prizes.
-
Would it be OK to have a photographer for this event? My friend and a Japanese diplomat at the JLGC Kotaro Kashiwai has generously offered to take pictures during the event for free.

Hi Everyone,
I want to give a few updates from my end and ask a couple of questions regarding the flood relief benefit.
-
Chef John is getting sake donations from World Sake Imports and Skurnik Wines; they will deliver the bottles to OKA.
-
Still trying to procure more raffle items. So far we have Hiro Sake, a Japan Society package that includes a dual membership and tickets to select events, and dinner for two at Sakagura. I'm picking
up the Sakagura gift certificate on Monday. If anyone has any others, please let me know. I updated my website to include these as well as the sake donations.
-
Yuji, Rona Tison from Ito En says that she can arrange for you to pick up the tea donation from their Dumbo warehouse on Wednesday, August 22. Will that work for you? The address information:
. Call 718-250-4000 a half an hour before you pick it up. THANK YOU! If this doesn't work for your schedule, let me know, and I'll put you in touch with Rona.
-
Yuji, were you able to get any donations from JFC?
-
Yuki, I like the idea of printing a couple of posters. Sorry about the last line about on the flyer. I think I suggested the 's. In my head it reads "the Japanese American Association's Flood Relief
Fund," so it doesn't look like a typo to me. Were you able to change it to what you want? ??

Hi team, just a few updates from me:
-
Attached is the latest version of the fundraiser poster from Kim.
-
I have some raffle tickets and a cash box from JETAANY to use for the raffle.

I'll keep pushing the event on social media. I'm sure we'll get more ticket sales in the next few days. New Yorkers are very last-minute planners.

Hi team, just a few updates from me:
-
Attached is the latest version of the fundraiser poster from Kim.
-
I have some raffle tickets and a cash box from JETAANY to use for the raffle. Will get some mini gift bags tomorrow for attendees to put raffle tickets in for prizes.
-
Would it be OK to have a photographer for this event? My friend and a Japanese diplomat at the JLGC Kotaro Kashiwai has generously offered to take pictures during the event for free.

I can't make it to JAJA tonight (have a class), but have fun and thank you for promoting!

We can do better than solo cups. I refuse to put that out, especially when we have consulates and potentially dignitaries there. This is a $75+ event after all.?

How are you going to manage smaller boxes for smaller prizes and larger boxes for larger prizes? At the risk of sounding completely white trash, let's use red Solo cups and put one in front of each prize. We're going to have a drawing for
each prize anyway, so I don't see how it would be too hard to manage, other than space considerations.?
Thanks for picking up the tea, Yuji! Warning: There is no Ito En signage on the warehouse door.
I'll be at JAJA and will make a push to everyone there. I also invited 74 people through Facebook.

As for prizes, I understand individual prizes. We'd need to get the final count of prizes so that we know how many boxes to get. I'll look tonight for small boxes for prizes. Do we have an updated list of prizes?
The issue is if there are too many, it would be hard to manage. We could do individual boxes for big ticket item and group smaller items into one prize box to be given away individually or as a bundle.
Last thing. Anyone going to JAJA tonight?? Good opportunity to advertise there.??

Can bring change for $300 in smallish bills and get it back at the end of the night.

picking up the Sakagura gift certificate on Monday.
In my head it reads "the Japanese American Association's Flood
Relief Fund," so it doesn't look like a typo to me. Were you able to change it to what you want? ??
I'll keep pushing the event on social media. I'm sure we'll get more ticket sales in the next few days. New Yorkers are very last-minute planners.

Re: Updates and questions
Suntory, Korin, and EN Brasserie are a no go unfortunately. Everyone who makes those decisions are on vacation. Sorry!! But I think we have enough prizes to keep it interesting. I'm bringing the Sakagura gift certificate, and I will win it.?
Sakeman is bringing three bottles of sake. We can pour or raffle, up to you.
I think we should have at least one extra box for cash donations.
I hope to be there by 6pm, but that depends on the meeting I have to attend. Fingers crossed!
Thanks, Susan
