Messi sound alert
Since upgrading to Ventura, something is triggering the Mezzo sound alert every 15-30 seconds or so and I can't find what it is. In Mail > Settings > General I've changed the sound to something else, so I'm sure it's not Mail. In Settings > Notifications I've pretty much turned everything off or at least turned Sound Notification OFF.
What else should I be looking for? |
Re: Testing a new From: email address
Maybe use a different e-mail client to see if the issue persists.

Alternatively, don't run any e-mail client at all temporarily and access the Apple-issued e-mail address using webmail. If you see anything in the spam folder with webmail, it is the mail server spam detection settings. I was having problems with iomug mail suddenly going to junk folder.

Looked everywhere, Deleted all rules, including in iCloud. Still went to junk. iomug rule now seems to be working after I changed the settings to “any”, “To”, “contains”, “iomug” Now messages from iomug go to the correct mailbox. At least for the moment. Re: Sharing problems following update to Ventura
开云体育To be clear, the Mail This Page option is tied to the default email reader, not the default web browser. If you’re using Mail, make sure Mail is your default email reader and this might clear up both issues.

Re: Sharing problems following update to Ventura
开云体育Just set up a new mail box in Mail.app for Iomug. Going to send this email to see if it is diverted to that inbox. Here was the rule:

Sharing problems following update to Ventura
开云体育It seems that after installing the latest updates to Venture: ?2020 iMac, SSD, macOS 13.5, there is a problem with sharing on my iMac, but not on my wife’s 2019 MB Air. This first screenshot is of the top, right-hand corner of Safari, with it’s Share icon. Previously, when reading an article in the NYT, in Reader view, when I clicked on that Share icon it produced a share “list” that had the Safari icon next to [Email This Page]. The icon has now changed to the Brave icon. I went back to Safari as my default browser and restarted, but nonetheless, the Brave icon is still there and clicking on[Email This Page] simply brings the Brave browser forward with the most recent page showing, not the page I was trying to email. In the next attachment is the next thing I noticed: This is what was produced when I right-clicked on a .jpg on my desktop. Previously the choice to email any item was offered when I right-clicked? ? When I go to [Edit Extensions] at the bottom, this is what I get: ?Mail is associated with the Brave icon and not the Mail icon as it is on my wife’s computer. I rebooted in Safe Mode: ?same problems persisted Booted normally again: ?same problems persisted. Might this be some corrupt preference? ?If so, any guess as to which one??

Re: Testing a new From: email address
I changed my email because I am having a devil of a problem with my @gmx email account....yet again
I get shut down about every six months or so, have to create a new password and then connect, yet again, the @gmx account to all my Apple devices.? It is just too troublesome. |
Re: Testing a new From: email address
Hello Bob,
But now you get the "via groups.io" issue for using an Apple-issued (also happens for yahoo.com and googlemail addresses) address to subscribe to the list. Also look at the AllApple groups.io mailing list. People who subscribed there using e-mail addresses issued by Apple are finding that all posts from the list are in the "spam folder" in the thread "[AllApple] What is going on?" Apple has changed something at the mail server. AG Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 7:11:41 PM, Bob Gerard via groups.io rowerbob@... wrote: |

Oh, boy... I remember those days in Berkeley. The new ideas of Apple, etc. How times have changed. Unfortunately, I have my own boxes of stuff, and don't need more. Re: Can't search in Notes
I got advice online to delete and replace the startup drive from search in system preferences. That seems to have done the trick. Thanks! Barbara
