Re: Cleaning out iPhone ports
I¡¯ve just tried White Tack on my iPhone XS. If you push it against the speaker holes, it goes in and any dirt sticks to it; pull it away and the dirt comes with it, without leaving any behind that I

Re: Cleaning out iPhone ports
The White Tack and Blue Tack are indeed available on Amazon; after watching the video for WhiteTack, I wonder if one managed to stick it in that tiny speaker orifice, could you get it back out again??

Re: Another senior with problems.
Ben, correct. One is not a replace for the other, but both will get you to similar destinations. One involve more time and human intervention. Brent

How about Blu Tack? I don¡¯t know if you have that particular product over there, but there must be something similar. <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu_Tack

Re: Another senior with problems.
I disagree. If you have a full Time Machine backup of the computer with nothing excluded on a reliable drive, you can safely boot to Recovery, erase your internal drive, reinstall macOS, and restore

Re: Cleaning out iPhone ports
Would¡¯t work, The speakers holes are so tiny and so placed that it would be impossible to focus the suction of a vacuum on them. We need the reverse of compress air in a can :-) Bob ¡ª¡ª¡ª

Re: Another senior with problems.
Bob, Time Machine is an incremental back up. Migration Assistant us the mechanism that takes those increments and moves the latest pieces over. A clone is a whole, ¡°snapshot¡± back up. So, my guess

? This may sound crazy, but what about using a vacuum cleaner hose attachment to clean out all of the ports. I've never tried it, so I cant say if it would be successful. Just a thought. Marji

Re: Cleaning out iPhone ports
The liquid is provided for cleaning the Lightning port, not for drawing lint out of the speaker holes. For the holes, there are tiny bristles designed to fit in them and brush them out.

Re: Cleaning out iPhone ports
Thanks, Ben. Let¡¯s see what other ideas folks suggest. I think the key to PurePort may be the liquid they place on the end of the tool. It looks like the lint, etc., stick to it when withdrawn. Bob
