One question, resulting from my own 40 years of being a Mac user, is “Whose software update will make your Canon printer become incompatible?” If it is Canon’s software, it is not YOUR problem unless you install it. If it is the next MacOS update that renders your Canon printer obsolete, it is not your problem unless you install it. If your printer is working to your satisfaction, your question is whether losing it is worth whichever “update” you decide to install.
I suspect it is a “scare tactic” used by Canon to get you to buy a new Canon printer. Apple usually does not warn the users of the many different brands of peripherals that they are about to make their equipment obsolete. Also, how many companies are going to warn you about another company’s software causing you a problem with their product you bought?

I have an old Canon MG2922 (2010?) connected to 2 MBAs, one 2015 (Big Sur) and the other a 2020 M1 (Sequoia). Canon supports this printer on System 9 through Sequoia, to date.?
I saw the same message, but I think it said “may” be incompatible in the future. In any event, I will keep using it until either it dies or becomes no longer supported. At the rate Canon supports its printers, I think that will be for a long time yet.?
What computer/OS are you using? What model is your Canon printer?
My needs are like yours, B/W printing on rare occasions. If I were to have to replace this printer, I’d go with a Brother laser. Reliable, inexpensive, easy to maintain, long-term support.

FYI: I got the pdf file in the previous message but couldn’t open it. Got this message:? The file “how to cancel a subscription to google gemini.pdf” could not be opened.It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.
Acrobat Reader couldn’t open it, either. Nor?Firefox, Safari, UnArchiver.
I was able to read it in DropBox.

Strangely enough I’ve found a work around. If I send the contact from the laptop to my iPhone as message I can then create a new contact and it shows up in the phone

Dutch Sometimes it takes a bit to sync, although normally not.
Make sure you have "All Contacts" and "All iCloud" selected in the Contact's app prefs. Also, go to the very bottom to see the number of contacts to prove the totals.

Have you tried restarting both devices? Is this iCloud?, or who is the provider of the contacts account? Can you verify that the new contacts are making it to the server?

Was this something subscribed to through the Apple App store? ?I have a few subscriptions that are managed through my Apple ID, which on my Mac Mini running Sequoia 15.2 is in the main computer Settings, Apple account, Media and Purchases, Subscriptions with a “manage” button to make changes, including cancel. ?My iPhone has a similar section to manage subscriptions, but it is one level up from where it is on the Mac desktop. It is crazy easy to cancel these, by clicking into the desired subscription then hitting “cancel subscription”.
If this was separately subscribed to, I am not familiar with the item so have no other suggestions, sorry.

Sight unseen - no, you're not. As I was just reminded, we learned to use computers when it was hard. Punch cards, floppy disks, paper tape, and even harder - some of us had to use Selectric typewriters.
Sorry I can't recommend a printer because my wonderful ten-year-old $59 Samsung laser, which is still chugging away, has been discontinued. But you want a cheap laser and you want to refill it with cartridges from Amazon.

I still like our Brother MFC-L3770CDW Laser. Initial cost might be considered high but? in five years, aside from a cover, we have spent nothing. Continues to work with my mid year 2010 MacBook Pro and the wife’s brand new iPhone Pro Max. We don’t print a lot, still using the original toners, with black nearing empty.?

Something has happened. My computer and my screen no longer go into Sleep mode.
I think it started after I turned on Focus, in an attempt to stop notifications during the duration of a movie.
Have restarted, have turned Focus off, turned on and off my Sleep settings (2 minutes screen saver, 3 minutes turn display off) under the Lock Screen preferences.
MacBook Air M2 (using external screen), 15.2.
Ideas? ?
