Older MPB finally die?

I have kept this older MBP going and plugged in for a long time and used it to back up my iPhone and other things. All of a sudden it won’t start up. Makes a tweaking noise but remains dark. I did back it up in June to external HS so I haven’t lost everything.

I assume my HD in it is “Capoute?”

I have tried to back up to external drive my iPhone 6+ using time machine and regardless of instructions I found I cannot figure it out how to do it. The instructions I don’t get. I may have figured it out once but still not sure it worked. Way to complicated. There is an app I can try but weather it will work on older iOS is probably doubtful.

Why can’t I send any emails from roadrunner on my iPhone but still receive them?

I still have the problem of my realator who sends me a house to look at and when I press on the picture, I am taken to Safari and the page is blank.

I looked this situation up and the fix for it was not a possibility on my iphone6+. Had to do
with screen time but I don’t have a passcode for it and my phone does not say something like
“did you forget your password” so I cannot change it. It was never a choice to have a password in the first place on older iPhones.

Try making the window wider? Not a ‘reasonable’ explanation, but sometimes when the window is too small, stuff gets cramped and weird stuff happens.

Just a guess.

While this thread has moved on to kinda be about a new topic, I found a way to solve my origibal issue.

Click and hold the Netflix icon on the home screen, select “Remove” (not “delete”). Click the icon again and it will download a fresh copy of the Netflix app. Click one omre time, and then you can type ind the correct ID and password.?

However, I didn't use an Apple ID for the Netflix account. I created an e-mail address specifically for Netflix on one of my own domains.

We don't have Apple TV.

If we want anything larger than the iPad or phone as screen, we simply connect it via lightning to HDMI adapter or via USB-C to HDMI adapter to the HDMI input of an actual TV.

Re: Migrate to new Apple TV

Playing games with IP addresses could well force people such as myself already paying through the nose for four simultaneous devices to simply abandon Netflix altogether and return to "free to air" satellite channels.
That prompts a thought. Maybe I will change my credit card for Netflix to either a prepaid card that never has more than one or two dollars available or to a digital one that I can simply delete to stop further charges instead of having to ask credit card companies to block Netflix or block the card completely and issue a replacement.

Re: Migrate to new Apple TV

I prefer finding mailing lists. Those have the advantage of being automated and being aware of potential problems and often solutions even if such problems have not happened for myself yet, or maybe I can reply to an existing post and try to help someone else. The problem with websites aka "forums" is that you have remember to go there manually to see if anything has actually changed since the last time.

I am experimenting with RSS. Like e-mail, RSS feeds are automated, but you often cannot "reply" if something you read on the websites prompts you into making your own contribution.

When I run into problems, I seek out specialized forums where members are likely to know the answer.

I have had excellent luck with Reddit, which I joined several years ago and where I now belong to dozens of what are called sub-reddits. I joined the sub-reddits for r/apple Apple Watch, r/airpods, r/sharpening, r/home improvement, r/routers, etc. ?You name it and there will be a sub-reddit for it.

And, yes, there are several for Netflix, r/netflix with 1.6 million members would seem to be your best bet.

Reddit is a bit confusing when you first sign up so best to find a video on You Tube, watch that, and save yourself a lot of frustration. ?Once you sign up and are comfortable with it, you will find yourself joining lots of sub reddits. ?I just went to the r/Apple Watch one yesterday and got an answer about displaying photos on an Apple Watch Ultra.

I looked on but the only Netflix forum there was geared towards viewers with a visual impairment.

Forgive me for ‘mansplaining’ but be very specific when you post for help. ?Being fulsome helps elicit responses. ?Posts like “Help! I can’t log on.” don’t. ?

Yes, I know, but it’s not password sharing. We are in the same household on the same IP-adress and everything.
I’m sure Netflix would not forbid us se see a movie together …

It’s just that she bought the Nexflix subscríption and some other subscriptions, like HBO are on my Apple ID, that is, I bought those.

While I admit I don't know how to change the Apple ID for Netflix, be careful unless you actually have a Netflix account that allows simultaneous devices and different profiles. There is some kind of clampdown on password sharing by Netflix going on.
