I'm not sure if the brand/vendor matters either, but I recently
bought a 128 upper slot chip for our Powerbook, and it works great. I
did a lot of calling around and no one could beat this company:
1-800-4-MEMORY
or their website:
Hope this helps,
Stacey
I'm in the market for a 128 or 256 MB memory module for my B&W G3/450.
The machine currently has 196 installed, all of it by Apple when I
ordered the machine. I truly haven't a clue whether or not the brand of
memory actually matters, and I'd love some help.
I bought memory from one of the Macintosh Resource Page's
(<<>>) a long
time ago and was pleased with the
experience. The RAMWATCH price list currently undercuts the catalog
vendors I know of significantly. The current vendor list includes Data
Memory Systems, MacMart, MemoryToGo, Other World Computing, and RamJet.
I'd appreciate feedback on which of these vendors I should look at most
closely, and which (if any) I should avoid, based on your experience.
I'm more interested in the "quality" of memory that the vendor supplies,
because I know poor customer service gets you bounced from RAMWATCH, but
if any of you DO have rotten experiences with current RAMWATCH vendors,
I guess I'd like to know about that, too :-)
Thanks!
David
