I use a program called "Digest Viewer". I save the entire message in a folder called, very cleverly, "Digests". I subscribe to 2 other groups that are digest form. In "Digest Viewer", go to browse folder and the the messages appear individually. It also groups the messages (all those RE: the same subject are together). I think I found it at download.com.

NO, I do not want to receive individual messages as they just clutter
up a mailbox.
With other digests I use the utility Burst to extract the individual
messages, but I have not been able to use it successfully with the
new egroup digest.
The value to me in having separate messages is that I can select the
ones that I want to save, and then transfer them to another mailbox.
