Re: Migrate from 2014 iMac to Mac mini m4

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. It turns out that I was able to find quite a bit more files that I was able to download to my external drive so that I only had 130GB left on the internal drive of the iMac. Because of that I bought I bought the 512GB version of the Mac mini today, and did a migration this afternoon that went smoothly. However there are a number of questions after the fact. Here's one. I have an old 6TB G technology hard drive with a firewire 800 port that I had adapted to a thunderbolt 2 to go into my iMac. I use it as a manual back-up for important files, as well as workflow and storage for my Final Cut Pro files. I have a 2 yr old 4TB SSD drive in my? iMac which I'm having removed at M.A.C. on Monday.? Should I get a thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 adapter to make the G technology compatible with the mac mini, or transfer the files to the SSD from the old computer? My thought was to use the removed SSD drive as my new media drive, and transfer the Final Cut libraries to it. I hope you all can follow! Any ideas??
