The Macintosh came out in January of 1984. ?I got mine with a printer in February of 1984. ?I¡¯ve still got it with the original box and the carrying case you could get. ?Since then I¡¯ve had a?succession of Macs. ? Right now I¡¯ve got a MacBook Pro, a Tower that they let me take home when I retired and I hate to admit 3 Mac minis. ?My wife also has a MacBook Pro and we each have an iPad. ?When I was working I attached our?office Macs to an IBM AS/400 mainframe.

I¡¯ve been the local Mac guru and have changed hard drives, batteries etc. on a lot of Macs over the years.

With a friend I wrote a comprehensive data base using Omnis that handled all the ordering and shipping where I worked.

I¡¯ve got lots of valuable advice and help from this forum and Randy in particular. ?I also have to shout out Pat Taylor for the particular help she¡¯s given me.

Back in the old days we had a tag line that we used. ?¡°If you have to read the manual it¡¯s not Mac enough¡± ?:-)

A warm welcome to our new IOMUG members! Please feel free to introduce yourself, say hello, and tell us about your history using the Macintosh computer.

For our older members, we have a number of new members this week who are coming from a much less friendly Mac discussion list.

IOMUG has a history of welcoming members from other lists who were looking for a Mac discussion list that was more friendly.? The folks here on IOMUG are all really nice.? No question is too basic.? Feel free to ask anything.
