Various forums and threads online suggest you are by no means alone in this. I spent some time a couple of weeks ago looking in to this device for my soon to arrive Mac mini M4 Pro.
Maybe they were ill-equipped to deal with the demand for these items? Maybe they¡¯re a shady outfit??
Another reason I passed on this was the speed of the $99 unit - 10Gbps is not stellar when connecting to my new Mac mini M4 Pro with Thunderbolt 5 ports on it.
