Re: Plastic Power Plug for IC-7000
There are a number of sources. It is called an HF-4 connector and eBay has listings as well as Powerwerx.

Re: Shuts down in 40m
Having designed & built many mobiles, I placed ground & power fuses right
at the battery, then off to the rig runners. This worked just fine for

Re: Shuts down in 40m
These are okay: https://powerwerx.com/atc-ato-inline-fuse-holder-10-gauge-red
Many automotive stores sell 30-amp rated ATO/ATC inline fuse holders, but most use 12 gauge leads, which I have found to

Re: Shuts down in 40m
I cut off the OEM holders and use Power Poles, connect it to a Power Pole
distribution box that has higher quality fuses.

Re: Testing the driver board with a multimeter!
In my opinion you do not have a salvageable radio. I see corrosion all over the place and that’s probably why it won’t transmit. I wouldn’t invest much time trying to repair this radio, sorry

Re: Testing the driver board with a multimeter!
If you can set idle current correctly, the probability the FET is good is very high. What about the little pre-drivers? There are plenty of other reasons the radio won’t transmit.
Thank You

Re: Testing the driver board with a multimeter!
Thanks Paul. I can adjust the idle current ,which i have done. Also I have some extra cables. The board looks perfectly fine.

Re: Testing the driver board with a multimeter!
Not really. The best way is to put the radio into the alignment mode and see if you can adjust the driver idle current. You should be able to set it to 1 amp. It’s adjustment range is from zero to

Can a person test the driver board once it has been desoldered ? And how?

Re: What should the voltage be ?
Yes. Follow the line. It goes direct to the 13.8 volt DC input. Icom radios have DC on the drains or collectors any time the radio is connected to an energized power supply.
Thank You

Re: What should the voltage be ?
6.82 volts on the gate is pretty high. It’s controlled by the driver bias setting in the service menu. It’s normally around 4 volts and you set it by monitoring the drain current on an external

What should the voltage be ?
When testing i get these voltages on my amp
A )not transmitting J101 no voltage but there is a voltage of 13.9 volts on J102.
B) transmitting J101 there in a volttage of 6.82 volts and a voltage? of

Re: IC-7000 Shuts Down When Keyed
Well folks...I fixed the issue!!!? Eight wraps of the coax thru an FT240-43 ferrite toroid at the radio did the trick!!!? I'm stoked that it worked.??
Apparently the 7000 is very sensitive to RF
