Well folks...I fixed the issue!!!? Eight wraps of the coax thru an FT240-43 ferrite toroid at the radio did the trick!!!? I'm stoked that it worked.??
Apparently the 7000 is very sensitive to RF on the shield.? I'd put my FT857d in the exact same setup, and had no issues whatsoever.? Put the 7000 back in...shut down every time.

John Denison?wrote. Pull the fuses out of the line, and either replace them or clean the contacts. This fixed my issue immediately and I’m almost willing to be the cost of two new fuses its your issue too.
