Re: [IC-7000] RE: ALC Meter
Turn on your swr meter and watch that. Wet can make a wire antenna go all
woogy, plus, wind can stretch them. The transmitter might have gotten hot
too. You need to watch power out, swr, alc, and muf

Re: ALC Meter
The tuning of the antenna can have an effect. If its raining or snowing it can alter the tuning of the dipole, lowering its resonant frequency.

Re: [IC-7000] (Almost) Dead IC-7000
Very strange :
You have the 8V regulator, then R2011 and C501//C502 ...
So you can find suitable replacement on eBay with words like :
100?F SMD

ALC Meter
I was contesting today and toward the end of the day my ALC meter would only go half way to where it usually goes which is to the edge of the line. It then would go to the edge again, drop again etc.

Re: [IC-7000] 80m problem
With an SWR of 3:1 or greater ... I can see why the 7K is acting funky. RF
is getting into the radio. Ground the radio with a flat braid or flat
copper strap and fix the antenna. The 7K is not going

Re: [IC-7000] 80m problem
RF is getting in to radio. Try to route coaxial cables away from other power or microphone cables, or any other cable that might provide an inductive path for rf energy to reenter radio. The same

Re: [IC-7000] (Almost) Dead IC-7000
Good news: Only C501 was shorted. No other damaged parts.
Just removed it, and the radio came back from the dead.
The sad part is I can’t find a suitable replacement for a while.

Sorry... HS means "hors service" in french... That is to say R2011 is dead...

Re: [IC-7000] 80m problem
Sounds like an R.F. feedback issue, more than likely into the power supply or microphone cable.
Try and substitute a known good 50 OHM dummy load in temporary place of your antenna system, and I

Hi,
HS may refer to HS Electronic Ltd, a major supplier of SMD and other reeled components in China.

Re: [IC-7000] (Almost) Dead IC-7000
I don't know what HS stands for, but I assume the resistor was discolored due to overheating.
I wouldn't recommend using the DIP leaded caps, as you will probably end up ruining the circuit board

Re: [IC-7000] (Almost) Dead IC-7000
What HS means?
I've read over the net cases where this resistor remains intact.
I'll begin with the capacitors.
?
I guess I have some 100uF tantalum DIP capacitors around.?

Re: (Almost) Dead IC-7000
To clarify, C501 & C502 are on the Display board, not the Main board. Getting to the display board isn't too difficult. Just don't lose the little button that sits on top of the Headphone/Speaker

(Almost) Dead IC-7000
Hello there!
I have a 7k with the “click-click no power” problem.
I’ve found a good start about it here: http://www.s21rc.net/?p=49
Tested for the C501 and C502 in the main panel board

Re: [IC-7000] Selling the IC7000
I can live with the monochrome (though the colour screen of the IC-7000 looks great), but the sloped front panel would be a deal breaker for the mobile station (would slope the wrong way). Useable in
