Re: Toptek PA-85V VHF amplifier
Note the radio is rated 50W,? moving up to 85W is a very marginal increase
and one I'd not persue.? ?Basically if you don't double your power its not worth
the effort.? I assume you using low loss cable (rg213 or better say lmr400) as
cable loss at 2m has an impact.? RG8X is ok for short runs (less than 25ft).
?
I use a small 30W amp for my Ft817 as 5W to 30w is a substantial increase.
?
I use an amp with mine... Not toptek but generally they are all the similar.
-? First TX power must be set to not damage the amplifier input.
? ?For my amp that is about 7W.
-? You need whatever cable? your amp uses to signal TX active, and also
? ? matches the IC7000 (the accessory jack).
- coaxial cables (obvious I know).
- power supply for the amp and the radio with 12A of additional current
? ?capability.
?
My experience and usage is that more antenna is cheaper than an amp
and it helps wth RX as well.? A small 4 element yagi for 2M aimed in the
desired direction will be far more effective than upping the power to 85W.

Have used?mine for a good number of years. you don,t?say what antenna you're using. I use a 10 element yagi?vertically polarised. 73 colin vk3zzs On Mon, Mar 24, 2025 at 7:57?AM Martha Pummer via <vmpummer=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: IC-7000 with full ALC in HF
How does the ALC behave using SSB, where are you feeding in the RTTY signals?
On SSB set mic gain to zero, there should be no ALC when you speak.

The ALC is derived from the forward power senseor. As the power control is working, the fault dhould not br too difficult

IC-7000 with full ALC in HF
Hi guys
I have in my hands an IC-7000 with several issue. One of them is the following : in HF I had 100 watt in all bands, no problem but ALC meter goes always in full-red zone, the ALC scale is full. I beleive was an adj issue so I have dona all adjustament as service manual describes. Before bias driver and finals (1? & 2), no problem, Gain HF1, HF2, HF3; then power 1, 10 , 25, 50, 75, 90 and 105 watt, perfect ! ALC setting ok But when I go in RTTY full power I have ALC meter completly in full scale (red) I suppose there is an block in TX-chain doesn't work very well so CPU pumps ALC to max. Does anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks in advance. 73s, Pasquale IW0HEX |

When we switch on the radio the relay vibrates indefinitely and won't switch on..i thought it may be cpu issue so got one cpu and replaced but the problem persists, i can send that extra cpu if you need, regarding the cpu issue..a recalling from mobile phone technician on the dsp ic solved many cpu issues , 73 Prabhu On Tuesday, 18 March 2025, Tommy Wooten via <kf4rwg=[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > Why is the logic assembly sitting on top of the radio? > What do you mean by relay vibration issue? > Thanks > Tommy KF4RWG > On Tue, Mar 18, 2025 at 12:26?PM Prabhu via <vu2cck=[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Hi , >> I am having an icom ic7000 fully intact but has relay vibration issue ,so any friends need for parts or repair it can send across, I can ship to any where fedex, dhl and ups can deliver ,shipping charges as actuals or as per your advice, the price is 400usd plus shipping charges,Radio+original mic will be send ,the pictures are attached here, contact me for more specific details, if some one wants to buy as group you can plan accordingly for your needed parts, >> >> 73 >> Prabhu > > _._,_._,_ > ________________________________ > 开云体育 Links: > > You receive all messages sent to this group. > > View/Reply Online (#42990) | Reply to Group | Reply to Sender | Mute This Topic | New Topic > Your Subscription | Contact Group Owner | Unsubscribe [vu2cck@...] > > _._,_._,_ |

Hi, Why is the logic assembly sitting on top of the radio? What do you mean by relay vibration issue? Thanks Tommy KF4RWG On Tue, Mar 18, 2025 at 12:26?PM Prabhu via <vu2cck=[email protected]> wrote: Hi , |

Re: Fixing the unrepairable IC7000
开云体育Theres caps smooth the 5V rail, and were rated at 16V, Icom replacements are now at least 25V, Tants. have a life! The low capacity would have caused switching noise on the BUK 12V line, but should have worked. I have had this fault over 20 times with these radios. ? KR ? Andrew ?
