AFAIK It’s a hardware mod to have it available. Did you just get the radio or did a firmware upgrade start this?

I'm able to stick the + - dup & fm tone in the memory of the A bank , then name it and save it and
I can select a memory channel with the microphone.

Do you have a "MW" or "memory write" button? I can't look at a manual right
now but it's common for Icom to have this button.

Pregaming a Memory Channel
Once I get the FM freq, dup, & tone working (so I can connect with the repeater) I push " V menugrp " to exit the tone set mode.
What are the next steps to program a memory channel?
