It may be a ribbon cable that connects the controls to the main board or head unit. I know it sounds crazy but I had a 746 and the memory channel knob would only work in one direction after it had been on for about an hour.Before that it worked fine. Talked with Icom service and they told me to give it a look as they see ribbon cables not fully seated squarely in their sockets and cause weird problems. They also advised me to give a slight snug on the circuit board mounting screws as they can cause intermittent problems with things such as audio. Only the circuit board screws , nothing else. But do carefully check the ribbon cable from that board that has the two controls and carefully reinsert.?
My IC7000 has a problem where the volume/squelch control and the control below it are inoperable.?I don't know if it was dropped or something whacked it somehow. The volume is running at full output and either control does nothing when rotated.

IC7000 current when turned off
I checked my battery drain going to my IC7000? when the transceiver is OFF.
It is 2 ma.? Is this normal ?? I would have assumed it would be 0.
Does this indicate that I have leaky electrolitics in the Input Power Supply section ? Maybe a bad On/Off switch ?
Anyone else have this problem ?
Assuming it needs a cap job or switch replacement where is a good place to send it ?

The AT-7000 was LDG's antenna tuner that was made to complement the IC-7000 as an alternative to Icom's AT-180.

Problem with RX - Temporary blocking of RX
Hi,
During recent activation of POTA, I had unusual behaviour on my IC7k. Suddenly signal goes to S9 but no sound from speaker, blocking all received signals. After 1-2 second "bloking" signal reduces and I gradually can hear stations better and better. This is irregular occurrence, could be once every 2-3min or once every 10-15min.
Is this radio or some QRM?

Ic-7000 cuts off until warmed up
Hello All.
Problem with IC-7000. After about a 20 minute warm-up no problem.
I acquired an IC-7000 from a silent key. Maybe it was used once. Perfect except when I first turn it on it comes up fine. Then when I tune it to a different frequency, I lose reception. Audio still working. No transmission. The I turn it off and back on, all is good. I added a new power cord with fuses. I removed the from panel and inspected inside all tight. The rig was sitting on a shelf for about 8 years and not used. So, is it burning in? Transmits full power on all bands. Thanks to anyone that might have any ideas.

I’ve never understood why a cheap child’s digital wrist watch from the 80’s was able to be more accurate and maybe only lose a few seconds a year… yet we pay thousands for ham gear that is somehow incapable of such basic functionality.

If you are connected to a computer, most logging programs can synchronize the radio clock with the computer clock automatically. Radio clocks are notoriously inaccurate (it’s not really an important feature of a radio).
