Re: External Didplay
Looks interesting if you are using a Yaesu rig. I don't think it will do you any good on an Icom IC-7000 though. The 7000 has a composite?video output. Look around for the 5" to 7" back up camera monitors/ Joe KR0UT On Fri, May 19, 2023 at 12:28?PM Deon Smith <deonrfi@...> wrote: Just wonder if anybody have used this display? |
Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Consider that the problem may not be in the FTDI driver, but in the installation of the software trying to use the driver (CI-V Scout, etc.).? Windows home edition does not have the same installation privileges of? Windows Pro.? Install Windows 10 Pro on the laptop (you will get "unlicensed" nags in your taskbar, but it will run),? and see what happens.? The driver information here may help:

Re: ci-v usb ftdi CAT cable
Thanks Gail,
I actually did that couple of days ago but always get the same results. Interface would ID itself correctly but radio doesn't see it or communicate with it.? Radio has the interface always plugged in and if I switch to Windows 11 PC, radio works. Immediately after changing to correct settings for the radio. Works on another similar Laptop with slower processor without updating any drivers.?? The other thing I noticed that the Windows 10 Laptop won't communicate with the WinKey USB as well. Same issue, recognizes the port as FTDI COM4.? Just finished updating to the latest BIOS version and another Factory reset on this Laptop.? Will give it another go later tonight.?? 73, Adam, ve3fp |

Is anyone using the CI-V interface cable with FTDI chip on Windows 10 with Icom 7000?
My interface only works on Windows 11 but on Windows 10 the USB port is recognized but will not control the radio. Windows 10 is a 64 bit? AMD with the latest FTDI drivers. Any ideas are welcome. |

You can change the default offset frequencies for HF, 6M, VHF and UHF as described on page 63 (page 72 in PDF file) of the user manual under Repeater Operation.? You can't add additional offsets to the selection -- only change the existing on.? That is done in the MISC menu Set Mode options on page 129-130 (pages 138-139 in PDF).? Your manual pages may differ from my USA version manual. |

I have a working FTDI USB serial cable plugged into a Windows 10 laptop here are I took some pictures of the device details. See if that matches up with yours.
