Re: [IC-7000] RE: IC-7000 on 60 meters????
Why not make an "out of band mod"? Then you can transmit and receive from 100kHz to 60MHz(?) and the 60m is fully covered. I have done this on an old IC-7000 and this worked for me! Just google "Ic-7000 out of band mod" and get a lot of info how to do this! Karl Jan - LA3FY |

If you want more features, like radio control, logging, etc... then the Ham Radio Deluxe program that Tony mentioned may be worth a try. No matter what software you use you will also need an interface cable between the radio and computer. I use the cable that came with the RT Systems software but I'm pretty sure there are other interface cables that will work. Jon... N7OCD |

This should workUnfortunately, while CHIRP is my preferred radio programming normally, it has a significant limitation for the IC-7000 in that it will only read and write Bank A memories (shouldn't be too hard for a programmer to overcome this limitation, from what I've seen of the CI-V command set). I have had success with the CAT-BKT software, but this is not freeware, it's shareware. There is a trial available for download. -- 73 de Tony VK3JED/VK3IRL |

There's a heap of software that works with the IC-7000, you would get a lot of results out of a Google search.? Most popular rig control software (Ham Radio Deluxe, etc) supports the IC-700, same for satellite tracking.? The list is quite long - my experience if that generally if the software supports control of radios in some way, the IC-7000 is almost in the list of supported radios. -- 73 de Tony VK3JED/VK3IRL |

Re: IC-7000 on 60 meters????
Older IC-7000 were limited to 5 channels for 60m. and USB only. This no longer applies to the newer models.
I have a newer IC-7000 (abt 6 months old). It transmits on a range of frequencies in the 60 meter band and also operates all modes (like on other ham bands). Tune the frequencies you are allowed to use and program them into memories. If the frequencies should change again, you will have no problem (as long as they stay in the provided range). Somewhere in the archives of this group is information on which serial numbers are "old" 60 meter channel assignment, and which are new. Robert NX3S |
Re: [IC-7000] Inexpensive lithium-ion batteries.
Those interconnection straps are spot-welded to the cells, so not sure how much good it would do.? If you tried soldering, the heat may damage the cell.? Nickel can be soldered, but it's much harder to do than copper or tin. 开云体育I have repaired battery packs several times by soldering and causing no
damage. In one case, the spot weld was bad and the strap was detached from a
cell. Scrape both the cell end and the strap with a knife to remove any
oxidation, then quickly solder with a hot iron and resin core solder. For making
a pack from scratch, maybe a narrow piece of braid would work. Solder-Wick comes
to mind as a possibility.
