Re: [IC-7000] Strange issues with output power
George The finals are either working or they are not - 0% or 100 % A big culprit is usually either the power supply - it MUST supply a minimum of 13.8 volts even under load or else it drops power. Or

Strange issues with output power
Hi All. I have had an Icom IC-7000 for over a year now, having bought it second hand. Today I went to use the for a few SSB QSOs on 20 metres when I realised I couldn't get more than 40 watts out.

Re: [IC-7000] IC-7000 with MP1 SuperStick Portable Antenna
Edson, All, I have used my MP-1 with both the IC-7000 and my FT-817 with great success as a portable. I have used it a few times on a trailer hitch on my car and it worked well on higher frequencies.

IC700 and THP HL550FX
I'd like to use my THP 550 watt amp with my Icom 7000. The diagram on page 21 of the Icom 7000 manual is not very clear. The amp has the ALC and STBY inputs, as shown in the diagram. And I have the13

Re: IC-7000 Power Output Dropping Off
FWIW -- If you're using the IC-718 mic input, you should have the IC-7000 MIC GAIN turned way down -- maybe 10, out of 100. If you're using the IC-7000 microphone input, you woould get better results

Re: IC 7100 vs 7000
Had a play with a 7100 last week and would not be so quick to write it off. It was a very well thought out radio. Love my IC7000 and had similar feelings as Dave AD7DB. I think just wait till you have

Re: IC 7100 vs 7000
I'd rather have the 7000's color display and have the control head on the radio. More stable that way. Although there are a lot of D-Star systems around here I am still undecided on whether it's worth

The color of the screen is not a problem... but the screen may be a problem : - If you lost the screen on IC7000, you can use a little external screen ; - If you lost the screen on IC7100, no external
