Re: Audio
I believe that the switch on the back of the head (or where ever it lives) changes the output level between speaker and headphone level and does not switch the speaker in and out. It may mute the speaker when there is something plugged in, I think.
There may be another headphone level out provided in the RJ-45 8 pin jack for the mike like Icom had on the IC-7100. Memory fails at this time, however. |
Re: Audio
开云体育Yes there is a switch on the back of the head. I have not had to use it either. I am sure the manual covers its use.Cheers Neil On 8 Dec 2024, at 11:57?AM, Rick Robinson via groups.io <rickw8zt@...> wrote:

Re: Audio
Isn’t there one on the backside of the detachable head. The manual describes its operation Haven't fooled with mine in quite a while. It’s worth checking out. The 706 had something similar. On Sat, Dec 7, 2024 at 12:10?AM Edward Luers via <eluers2=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Audio
开云体育Hi EdIf I understand your question correctly. You want to be able to turn off the internal speaker and use a headset (as in headphones). Well there is a headphone jack on the side of the head ( RHS), when you plug in there the speaker is disabled.? However if you want to use the microphone as well on a headset, then you would need to? 1. Make sure microphone is compatible with the 7000 2. You would need an interface cable between mic jack and headset. I have not attempted 2 as yet, but I use the headphone jack to interface to my computer for running a program called Spectran, and it definitely switches of speaker. Cheers? Re: CAT Connection
You may also look at CT17B CI-V Hubs can connect via Bluetooth or usb, and 5 CIV radios or OEM CI-V Devices, all ports, DC and Grouns are rfi filtered, signals are processed and automatically leveled to maximum, etc... all the info are on www.ve2dx.com?

Re: CAT Connection
Get this from Amazon.
?
There are cheaper ones but they have the Prolofic chipset which tend to have driver issues unlike the FTDI chipset.??
?
This is for CAT control.? If you didn't get a Signalink cable, you need one with a mini DIN 6 pin connector. Part # SLCAB6PM

Locking Memory Frequencies
Hello all:
?
?? I just purchased a 7000 with the primary usage being mobile 2 and 432 SSB/FM in various vehicles.? All of the memories are tunable.? Is there any way to lock them so the frequency can't be changed by an inadvertent knock on the tuning dial?? If it's in the manual I missed it.? Thanks/

Re: Intermittent Loss of Pre-Driver signal
Hi Neil
?
I now need to focus on some other things here for a week or two.? ?But I am satisfied that the fan modification is keeping things cooler than before.? ?And it's important to note that the fan is positioned close the two pre-driver FETs!? ?I'm reasonably sure the the increased cooling will keep this rig going for several years - and will probably outlast the rig's current owner!

Re: Intermittent Loss of Pre-Driver signal
开云体育HiNow that I have had time to look at the data sheets for the 2 devices. The physical size would make it difficult to fit onto the space. The replacement is designed to mount on a large heatsink, bolted through mounting hole and then stand above circuit board. The device in the IC7000 is a surface mounted device (SMD). I think heat-sinking or throttling back drive a little or both is best. Steve, Is it possible to do a finger temperature test on those two devices, after transmitting for a while into a dummy load. Firstly to compare how hot each one gets, and secondly to see how hot it’s running. If it is getting really hot after a short test, then most likely the device may fail again. Hope this helps 73 Neil On 30 Nov 2024, at 1:58?PM, Bob via groups.io <W4JFABob@...> wrote:
