Ian:

I also use the IC-PW1 AMP. WITH THE IC-7000 no problems. Used a OPC-599
adapter following the IC-7000 documentation.

If you are running both the radios off the Amp. You will need a RS-232 cable
to a CT-17 device with two CI-V mono cables, one from the CT-17 to the
IC-PW1 Amp, the second one from the IC-7000 to the CT-17. The CT-17
"piggy-backs" the CI-V as needed per the documentation. The3 IC-PW1 manual
shows the process of how to synchronize the

Radios to the PW1 do it automatically switches bands as you select their
frequencies while using the radio.

Hi Ian

Although I am not familiar with your Icom 775DSP I did download a copy of
the manual.

From what I see the 775 requires a 8 pin plug for the amplifier hook up.

The Icom 7000 requires a 13 pin plug for the amplifier hookup.

Does this help you at all?

For the SG-230 autotuner, SGC suggests saying "Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh" into the mic.

That gives a pretty stable SSB signal to tickle the autotuner. So does holding the mic a foot away from your mouth and whistling (if you can whistle).

That's a workaround for your problem, not a solution, but it's a proven workaround.

Re: Auto tune help

There is a menu setting in the MFJ-929 that has to be set to "Icom" before
it will work. It is described on page 19 of the manual. I got nailed by
that little detail when I bought my MFJ-929 a couple of years ago.

I have a similar problem with an MFJ-993 tuner. It worked as advertised
with a 706. Wouldn't tune when I went to a 706IIG, and doesn't work
with the current 7000 - same tuner, same cables. Works fine if I press
the tune button on the tuner. Went back and re-tried the 706, and it
still works correctly, but not the IIG or the 7000.

This is pure conjecture, but I think it's a timing problem - the 706IIG
and the 7000 don't hold the key line low quite long enough to start the
MFJ tune sequence. For now, I use the tuner 'tune' button. Some day

Subject: [IC-7000] Re: tot

The "new feature" seems to only apply to new firmware updates available for
the IC-7600 & 7800. I find nothing about TOT being available for the 7K.
Icom doesn't update 7K firmware....
