Re: [IC-7000] IC-7000 / RT Systems software
Alex Netherton
I really didn't quite understand why they tied the cable to the software like that.Still makes it a little difficult when their cable, a Prolific, decides not to work with Windows or vice versa. Mine keeps coming up as "device not recognized, a USB device has malfunctioned blah blah etc". Perhaps it is the cable itself. Maybe it was fixed in a recent update, as I haven't seen this lately. 73 de KC4BOAlex Netherton On Sun, Dec 22, 2013 at 3:34 PM, ham.4x1uf <ham.4x1uf@...> wrote: I am not working for RT systems but I do know that a lot of manpower in |

开云体育For what it is worth. I use the?RTS01 cable with the IC-7000 / RT Systems software. It works perfectly.?

Re: [IC-7000] IC-7000 / RT Systems software
I asked this question about the interface cable because they are selling the program separate, without a cable. Better yet for non US OPs, it can be bought as a digital download. (no shipping, customs etc.) Having to buy the program with a cable, the cost goes up fast with shipping and customs charges.? RT systems sells their software for the IC-7100 separate, without the cable (digital download) In this case, they say it it will work with the USB cable supplied with the radio. This will exellent and is a good buy considering all the D-Star stuff it can also handle.. Their software it is protect in that it requires a serial number or some form of activation, as far as I know. Were not talking about stealing the program, only discussing the cable to connect the radio to computer. Protecting their interests is one thing but forcing you buy a cable when they could have used a standard CIV cable, that's another thing. The connection to the radio has to be Icom CIV, so what else have they changed so you need their cable?? Also, you can back up the CD (for your on archival use) but you may require a special program. The same kinds of programs are used to back up game CDs.. 73.. Re: Connecting an IC 7000 using Rigrunner
Use all 4 conductors because of instantaneous current requirements. They used 2 conductors paired together as the single connectors and wires won't handle the higher well enough to maintain proper voltage. This radio need a good current/voltage supply.

The RT System software is made for the 7k and it only works with its own cable. Don't know why. I have not found any software that works as well. You may be able to make a cable yourself but RT won't like it. It makes life so much better. Worth the price. On Dec 22, 2013 1:53 PM, <ve5kc@...> wrote:

Connecting an IC 7000 using Rigrunner
开云体育Having purchased an Icom IC-126 power supply I note that the power output
consists of two positive and two negative terminals.
?
Likewise the power input to the 7000 has a similar configuration, that is
two positive and two negative inputs .
?
My question is, could I simply use one of the positive connections to the
7000 and one of the negative power connections. Or
should I split the rigrunner cables where they go into the IC-7000 thereby
using all 4 of the inputs to the 7000.
?

Re: [IC-7000] IC-7000 / RT Systems software
Anyone know what's so special about the RT Systems programing cable? Has anyone tried using a USB CIV? cable? The software price is not bad, when bought as a digital download, no shipping required.. but it says "Works only with the RT Systems USB-RTS01 cable" 73..? Ken - VE5KC ?? ? ? ? |

开云体育I saw that and they only go up to 99 entries. Since I have about 200 HF entries to make I'm using Band A and Band B for HF. They also have the band edges entered in a bank of entries. I doubt that I will fill the memories completely, but I am going to fill it in some logical order. ? Technically, I don't think it makes any difference how you use the "Band" in the programming of the radio. I think that is just what the programmer named those worksheets in the spreadsheet. ...Please forgive me for any possible typos. :-) On Dec 21, 2013, at 4:59, "k9ghz" <k9ghz@...> wrote:

IC-7000 / RT Systems software
Hi All!
I just received my new IC-7000 and the RT Systems Software. Question!, I notice the software format has band-A, band-B. band-C, and so on. if I understand this right you would program like all 2mtr and 440mhz frequencies in band-a and HF in band-B and 60mtrs in band-C or something like that? k9ghz,frank |
Re: [IC-7000] Software

开云体育I literally just got two HF radios that I need to program, both are Icom. One is a marine radio and the other is the 7000. I got the RT Systems software and I think it's fantastic. It's easy to use. Just plug in the frequency and then there are drop-down menus for everything else such as the mode. I was only programming HF before I went to bed, but you can program your offset and a few other settings with those drop-down menus. I'm hoping I can find some software for the other rig, the Icom IC-M802, that is just as nice as the RT Systems software and compatible so I don't have to re-enter the HF info again, as I have about 200 frequencies in all HF bands to enter. The website is . The software and cable package is WCS-7000, Version 4 Programming Software and USB-RTS01 (USB to Stereo 3.5mm Plug Computer Interface Cable)?
