Re: Driver Board Replacement, adjustments required?
It’s just volume. Whistle, say a long ‘fiiiiiive’, white noise; all good. Just drive it as hard as you can. You don’t need an RF meter of any sort to set idle current.
Thank You

Re: Driver Board Replacement, adjustments required?
Thanks for the feedback Paul.
Very good.
For the idle current adjustment all I need is an rf meter and an ammeter. That’s ok.
For the power adjustments, when you say “saturate the mic with

Re: Driver Board Replacement, adjustments required?
You can probably skip the drive adjustments and maybe the power output adjustments but you absolutely need to do the idle adjustment. You do need a special set up for the drive (not driver)

I have a couple of 7ks. ?A newer one works perfectly, as far as I can tell. ?An older one has low output and the driver board is suspect. ?I intend to replace the driver board - new

Re: (Almost) Dead IC-7000
It's an old topic, but just to affirm that replacing C501 & C502 for new ones solved my problem.

Re: Wanted: MFJ-7000
That would only give me the AATU functions (for which I have many other choices) though, and not the other features of the MFJ-706 or 7000

I believe that you will find it far easier to find an MFJ 939I like I used with my IC-7000 with no problems

Re: AGC Fault?
Hi
If the defect appeared after the driver was repaired, I will change 2 ribbon cable between PA unit and MAIN unit.

Re: Driver board
Pasquale, Paul, Thank you. I see Mouser has them in stock, $21. I may
attempt to fix that burned board. Good project for a rainy day. Shipping to
you may be quite expensive but it's only 900 miles

Re: Driver board
Hi all, I've attached a picture of the burned and new driver boards. There
is a 1 ohm resistor on both. I hope the picture isn't
too large for groupsIO.

Re: Driver board
Congratulations on successfully replacing the driver board in your IC-7000. Replacing those flex cables from the PA to the MAIN is a real challenge.
Now for the reason I’m jumping in on this.

Re: Driver board
That sounds like a good idea. My 746 has a fan on it 100% of the time.

Got it done. Full power out on all bands. Old board burned. There was no
