Re: [IC-7000] I hear audio in the speaker when transmitting
Hi John,
I'm curious to know if the problem was ever resolved. As of yesterday my 10 year old 7000 just began having faint scratchy audio when I transmit on HF SSB, CW, and RTTY mode (more like a frying hiss) coming from the speaker, internal or external. The symptom goes away if I reduce the output power to around 50% or lower.? AM is OK, but I suspect the lower output doesn't trigger the noise.? No problem on VHF or UHF. ? For those who will comment... the faint scratchy audio and/or noise, depending on transmit mode, is there all the time, antenna or dummy load.? It's not RFI.? Ground is good, mic doesn't need to even be plugged in for it to happen on CW when keyed. -Marty N6PRX |
Ic-7000 separation kit
Noticed the following listing on ebay.?
ICOM - OPC-1444 Separation Cable for The Icom IC-7000 Transceiver. I see that this seller Joslyn1980 has sold a few going by positive feedback.? So anyone that's looking one. This may be a place to get one if your stuck.? Seller based in UK/Europe.? Here's the link.? |

Re: An auto tuner for my IC-7000
I've been using an it100 but..,,also damaged my rig three times !!!! Last years field day was the first id used it since the last repair and after 6 hrs or so, used on cw and/or rtty, it crapped out again, only about 15 to 20w out...it sat until recently when i emailed Matt at SAR in Michigan and he asked me call him....first thing he asked was am i using a LDG tuner....apparently the 7000 doesn't like the rapid switching and swr spikes caused by the tuner....debating whether to fix it again, or try to sell as is..,,receive is fine and vhf/uhf transmit fine, just very low output on hf....

I use the Icom AT-180.? Works great and self tunes when you change frequencies or bands.? You can also MANUAL tune when desired. 73 K9UTQ

Re: IC-7000 and LDG IT-100 ,trouble ?!?!?!
I have been using an IT-100 in my mobile setup for a few years. The radio has not blown up yet. ?
Low power is typically due to low DC voltage not SWR although above 1.5 the radio does cut back rather quickly. ?I run mine off a deep cycle battery which is charged from the vehicle electrical system through a Schottky diode so I don't quite get 13.8V and rarely get the full 100 W out.? |
Re: IC-7000 and LDG IT-100 ,trouble ?!?!?!
开云体育I have an IC-7000 and I bought an LDG AT-200 PRO II this week.?
The tuner really acts erratic & now it's on it's way back to
the store from where I bought it. Ron? W4UT On 5/2/2018 9:29 PM, WW3S wrote:

IC-7000 and LDG IT-100 ,trouble ?!?!?!
开云体育My IC-7000 crapped out, again, at Field day last year, no , or low power on
HF, (don’t think it’s the fuse problem, as the power cord is not fused, connects
to a rigrunner)...second time it happened. and Field day was the first time back
on the air after the other repair.....I was talking to Matt at SARTS and he
asked if by chance I was using an LDG tuner, which I have been, both time it did
this , and he said for some reason the 7000 doesn’t like the LDG tuner, that
even though its on low power, when it does it search the SWR varies too much too
fast.....any one else experience this.....the radio works fin on VHF/UHF, and
receives fine on HF, but only puts out about 15-20 watts or so....Matt suspects
it’s the finals, but the previous repairs had something to do with the driver
circuitry.... |

开云体育The IT-100 requires that you tune it with the front button or the tune button on the radio, it is not fully automatic.? That is not really evident from the description.? The 100 or 200 Pro II are automatic. ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Max White

HI,
I would like to purchase an automatic tuner for my 7k. I have selected the MFJ-939I and the MFJ-993B. ?I would prefer the latter, as it is way more versatile. However, as far as I have understood, when I change frequency, the 939I tunes up without the need to push the "tune" button, while the 993B requires button pushing. Have I understood well?? Any recommendations for a good tuner? 73 Marco |

Warren Allgyer
I have one I would sell. It was a recovery project and is restored to full capability with a new processor. Includes mounting bracket, separation cable, mic. One always worries a bit when the 7000 has been opened up and especially when it has had major surgery like this one. But it works perfectly on all bands. $600 including shipping. Only selling because I have similarly restored IC-7100 and IC-706 and normally use an RS-HFIQ SDR for air so the 7000 is redundant. ? Warren Allgyer - WA8TOD |
