Re: [IC-7000] CW Mode
Thanks all, I'll look I to it. It's strange though that with all the other modes everything sounds fine. I would think the filters would be set for those too but I'm still learning how this rig works.

Re: [IC-7000] 7000 & DVRPTR?
You need to have the AMBE board or an AMBE chip built into the DV-RPTR board to use it to convert your IC-7000 into a D-STAR radio. You also need a means to program callsigns into the board - PC or

Re: [IC-7000] 7000 & DVRPTR?
Does this just turn the radio into a dstar repeater, or does it add dstar to the radio? Thanks. I would like to have dstar, but don't want to pay the price. 73

Re: [IC-7000] RE: IC7000 and RTTY what do you do?
Ham Radio Deluxe, RMS Express, dl-fldigi (though used in Rx only for balloon tracking), PC-ALE, Digipan, that I can recall. Interface is a G4ZLP with CAT (i.e. CI-V) support, and a separate serial

Re: [IC-7000] CW Mode
Your CW filter is probably set for 500 hz, and it sounds like that when the bandwidth changes. You want to hear something really funny and muffled, engage the DSP; I cannot stand it, so listen to more

Re: [IC-7000] CW Mode
Sounds like you have filters on. Check you don't have nr noise blank filters on etc and check the filter width. When selecting cw the tones should dull down slightly but not as much as your saying

CW Mode
When I turn my 7k to the CW mode, for some reason all the background noise sounds really muffled. If I then switch it to LSB or USB, I can hear the CW tones that are being sent by other stations. Why

Re: [IC-7000] Is IC 7000 a good pactor radio ?
Hi Robert G6LLP , Maybe some of the problems come from the fact that KAM , and many similar TNC made for Packet, are not really complaining with the Pactor lev.1 protocol !! I never had such troublem

Re: [IC-7000] IC7000 and RTTY what do you do?
I just use audio tones in SSB mode for all my digital modes, rather than getting the radio to do FSK. Easier for me, since I use a wide variety of digital modes. -- 73 de Tony VK3JED/VK3IRL

Re: [IC-7000] 7000 & DVRPTR?
Yep, no issues. Signal polarity is "normal" for Tx and Rx. Use the data port, make sure the radio is configured for 9600 bps and in FM mode. I used the second (10 kHz) IF filter. Haven't had a chance
