Re: Low Speaker Audio
The plug on the side of the head is for a head phone. You need to plug the speaker into the back of the RF deck in the trunk. Larry KF5MLP

Re: [IC-7000] Low Speaker Audio
Do you have the switch on the back of the head unit set to speaker or to headphones? I suspect the latter. =8-)

Low Speaker Audio
The IC-7000 is still new to me, having just installed it in my car last night. So, I have not had a chance to memorize all its capabilities and buttons (yet). Last night, when I installed my 7000, I

Re: [IC-7000] Re: IC-7000 Power Output Dropping Off
The reason I stressed a dummy load is that your ALC and power out will depend on the load you put on it. If you use the tuner to get 1:1, you should be pretty good. Yes, you should have a good dummy

[IC-7000] Re: IC-7000 Power Output Dropping Off
I reckon my next investment ought to be a dummy load as i havent aquired one of thosee yet. I suppose it would be OK to find a free freqency no one's using and experiment there as that is the only

Re: [IC-7000] Re: IC-7000 Power Output Dropping Off
That may be considered the "old" way of doing it, but yes. There's no reason to turn the power down on the radio IF you are sure you have a good clean audio feed to it. Just turn the audio down. If

[IC-7000] Re: IC-7000 Power Output Dropping Off
So basically what your saying is that I'm supposed to be running the radio at 100% power (100W) and to control the power level

Re: [IC-7000] Re: LDG IT-100 Tuner for the IC-7000
I'd also second Andy's recommendation on the LDG 200 Pro II. Both of the pro versions have the SWR & PWR Meters and support the connection of two antennas. I picked up the 200 instead of the 100

My choice is the LDG AT-200 series; Mark 2 preferred. Higher voltage rated caps and coils and universal application! 73 - Mac, K2GKK in OKC

Re: [IC-7000] LDG IT-100 Tuner for the IC-7000
When they work, the LDG tuners are great. I have two and both have failed on the IC7000. On one (base station) the antenna switch relay was a dead short to both antennas and on the second, some relay

Re: [IC-7000] LDG IT-100 Tuner for the IC-7000
My IC-7000 is installed in the car full time. I use the Hustler mobile antenna system. It has a 54 inch mast and I just screw on resonators for the frequency I want to work. I couldn't get my 80 meter
