Re: [IC-7000] LDG IT-100 Tuner for the IC-7000

Grant Saviers

When they work, the LDG tuners are great. I have two and both have failed on the IC7000. On one (base station) the antenna switch relay was a dead short to both antennas and on the second, some relay in the tuning tree is bad. LDG did send me a new relay for the antenna failure, it is clearly a better part. They seem particularly failure prone if the swr drifts around as on a boat (second failure was MM on a ship) or mobile installation and tuning cycles a lot. A friend also had his fail and got no joy from LDG re repairs.

IMO, if you run 100 watts, better get a much higher power rating tuner.

I have that exact setup here and it works great, a good combo.

I just moved and sold off my old gear beforehand. I really interested
in getting an IC7000 and figured the LDG IT-100 tuner would be a good
match for it (pun intended).

I'll likely use it more as a base radio as i have limited space for a
big station.

Any comments on using these item together is appreicated!
