And another data point. According to you, anyone who ran/runs CW on a FT-7 was/is also operating illegally. Check the schematic of the FT-7 one day, you'll find an audio oscillator keyed by the key, the output of which is sent to both the audio amp (for sidetone) and the SSB modulator.
