At home depot the other day I seen a can of plastic insualtion for dipping the handles of your pliers in, that ought to work but youd have to brush it on as dipping it would get it inside the connector where its makes contact.
Another idea is heat shrink tubing, even better than that, at the auto parts store (Oriely's) I seen they had some heat shrink tape a couple weekends ago, I bought some and used it on a couple of my projects and it worked out pretty good.
