I'm a rank Hammond rookie in the UK, having just had a T202

wish me luck! I know the T202 is no B or C3, but we've all got to

One quick question - I know the T202 is a T-series (!), but what

Hi, I'm new about here, based in UK. the 'home' of prog rock or Progressive Rock. I think the term mostly refers to 70's alternative rock bands like Yes, E.L.P. and Brian Eno to name a few.

Question:

Chris (or anyone who knows) What type of AC motor is the "synchronous"?

( I'm gonna guess that the start motor is a AC series type, where the field coils are in series with the armature windings.)

Thanks

These non self-starting motors don't have a clue as to rotational
direction, in fact if you can get it up to speed going in the reverse

For an example of the difference between rock and progressive rock
(extreme
example), listen to Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll", or Bad Company's "Just
Want to Make Love to You". Then listen to the first 20 minutes or so of
Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" (that's about all most people can handle
of
it in the first listening>
Frank Stroupe
Well if you are a Hammond organ player/lover and like Progish music,
listening to Thick as a Brick will be very easy ;)
This is Probably my favorite Rock album of all time, from start to finnish
it is an amazing piece of work. If you have not heard it give it a listen,
the Hammond work is very tasty not to mention the rest of the band. Jethro
Tull at there finest IMHO. I have a live in Japan bootleg of the whole album
start to finnish with some extra parts thrown in, it is played as tight as
the album although slightly dufferent. I found it on some Jethro Tull file
sharing club on the net, if you can find it, it is worth a listen although
the sound quality is far from Hi-Fi but you get used to it.

Luckely some one noticed. I recently saw Jan Akkerman playing. But
the focus power is gone if you ask me. He knows the instrument very
well and plays very nice music, but it's more jazzy nowadays. But
it's nothing like focus.
well I suppose there is a time and a place for everything. I dont
blame them - all good things must come to an end. The Stones should
have parted a long time ago. Now they're quite banal...

Re: top ten prog rock on E4 (UK only)

Well some might say prog is rock with a lot of breaks in between

For others progressive rock (aka adult oriented rock) may have been
the ultimate genre of rock music that evolved from late 60's
psychedelia movement. In a nutshell prog fused classical, baroque and
medieval compositions with storytelling of sagas and great journeys
or simply fantastic places or historical events, all backed by dense
instrument virtuosity with electronics and powerful firm rock
textures alongside.

After prog, nothing else matters. Filthy punk murdered rock.

Hi guys,
I remember when I was in "heavy trip" with prog music, I've red a lot of reviews 'bout Focus works, so I bought two good lp: "Moving waves"(1971) and "Hamburger Concerto"(1974), so if you're going to buy something, this is a little advice.Ciao
