Thinking of selling my Yaesu FT817

Hi,

I¡¯m thinking of selling my FT817, the only thing is that the BNC connector on the front has a dent on the edge. This makes it unusable, I thought about getting it replaced but as I only really used it on HF, I used the rear UHF connector.
Apart from that the transceiver is in very good condition and has had comparatively little use. The mic hasn¡¯t really been used as I operate on the digital modes
I think I still have the original box, manual and mic.
I live in the UK, would anyone be interested in buying it?
I will add some photos later if allowed on the group.

Thank you

Andrew.

The dent on the edge of the BNC is a easy fix... I think you call them Tin Knockers
but here in the USA that's simple work for a Machinist or Tool and Die maker. and one that works in metals.

Hi Larry,

?

Thanks for the info.

?

In the UK I think they may be called panel beaters.

Hi,

I put the Yaesu FT817 Transceiver on eBay yesterday. If you haven¡¯t already seen it on there, the item number is?125687869464.
Please note in the description there is reference to at least once, to the FT817ND, maybe more. I forgot to take that / those out and I¡¯m unable to remove from eBay at the moment.
Any reference to the FT817ND does not apply to the FT817 that I am selling.

Thank you

Andrew.

Hi,

Regarding the BNC connector being unusable as it is because of the dent in it, apart from the convenience of attaching an antenna directly to the BNC connector, the frequency range for the front and rear connectors is more than enough for the transceiver.?
Using the rear connector instead of the front connector doesn¡¯t make any difference performance wise.

Andrew.

Except for the additional power usage when the antenna relay is energized! LOL

Seriously, Andrew is 100% right.
